Components of Wheel Alignment
Camber: The tilt of the wheel when viewed from the front of the vehicle. Positive Camber: The top of the wheel tilts outward. Negative Camber: The top of the wheel tilts inward. If camber is out of alignment, it can cause uneven tire wear and affect vehicle stability.
Toe: The angle at which the tires turn inward or outward when viewed from above. Toe-in: Tires are closer together at the front than at the rear. Toe-out: Tires are farther apart at the front than at the rear. Incorrect toe alignment causes tire wear and poor handling.
Caster: The angle of the steering axis when viewed from the side of the vehicle. Positive Caster: The steering axis tilts toward the driver. Negative Caster: The steering axis tilts away from the driver. Caster affects steering stability and how the vehicle returns to a straight position after turning.
